Enlighten me on the review process...

We have a workspace app that has already been approved by Google. We recently added a new scope thus triggering an additional review of the already-active app.

Questions:

  • How long should we expect a follow-up review for new scopes to take? (We've been waiting for 3 weeks now with zero response.)
  • Is the expectation that we will freeze the production instance of our codebase pending review? It's frustrating to be limited in our ability to make app updates while awaiting google review.
  • Is it possible to get help from a person at google — even just for clarity on the process?

I feel your frustration 😣 waiting for a review can be a real drag. unfortunately, the exact timeline for a follow-up review can be a bit unpredictable. sometimes it takes a few weeks, but it's not unusual for it to take longer, especially if there's a surge in review requests....

as for freezing your production instance, it's not a strict requirement, but it's often a good practice to avoid any potential hiccups during the review process. however, google understands the need for updates and changes, so if it's necessary, you can definitely make updates while awaiting review

getting direct help from a person at google can be a bit challenging, but you can try reaching out through the google cloud support channels. hopefully, the review comes through soon, and you can get back to smooth sailing with your app.

They indicate that we should hear something within 3-5 days. It's been 3+ weeks with zero response.

and this is really weird😥

I've never had such a delay. did this request get into some kind of shadow ban or something?

Not sure how I would be able to assess that. We've signed up for standard support as well and gotten the usual non-answer from Google.
