Since we have no control over what a recipient decides to mark spam, a manual override would be beneficial to those who pay for Google Workspace.
Are you perhaps referring to the โApproved Senders Listโ mentioned near the end of https://support.google.com/a/answer/60752?hl=en ?
Cheers,
Ian
Ian's answer is correct -- there are admin controls to allowlist/approve trusted senders. These are on the recipient side, but can be done at an org level.
There is no option for senders to override. That would defeat the purpose of spam filtering in the first place if spammers could simply self-declare as "not spam" ๐ For resources on how to improve and monitor delivery as a sender, see https://www.gmail.com/postmaster/
Using data about whether previous messages from a given sender have been marked as spam is most definitely one of the key criteria that Google (and just about every other majorโand minorโemail provider) uses to decide whether future messages from a sender should also go to spam. Thatโs really just how e-mail on the modern internet works. See https://www.sparkpost.com/resources/email-explained/email-sender-reputation/ for a pretty decent explanation of this.
Hope that helps,
Ian
