@Willie_Turney It seems that the "Add to your Google Calendar" link for this event is broken. Here's what I see when I click that:
Cheers,
Ian
@icrew - thanks for flagging! can you try again now?
Works great now, thanks @Willie_Turney !
Questions:
- I can't attend due to it being 2AM AEST, is a recording of this going to be made available or another AMA in a more friendly time zone?
- I use Google Identity through GCPfW - What is the roadmap for this product?
- GCPfW provides a bunch of Windows based (OMA-URI) MDM, however this doesn't include Google desktop products, such as Google Drive, GASMO, or Chome before the user signs in, are there plans to extend the MDM to control these products?
- What are the plans for GCPfW and Windows Hello (particularly Fingerprint). I have a number of users who want to enrol fingerprint or pin signin, but anecdotally, for the small number of users I've allowed to do it, I get complaints that signin stops working once or twice a week and they need to restart their computer. I'm assuming this is when GCPfW overwrites a quick password signin and wants to do a 2FA signin. Any plans for some improvements here?
- I use Google -> Apps -> Web and mobile apps -> MS Office 365 to allow Google users to SSO into their Office Tenancy, to obtain their licenses, however Auto-Provisioning breaks every ~12 months. The only way to fix it is to delete the auto-provisioning profile, wait 5 minutes, and recreate it, then re-provision the new users, and keep doing this every 6 to 12 months. I've reported this to support but Google support has been reducing in quality for some time. Can we please get this in front of which team is needed to fix it? MS licencing is a requirement in just about every company, and SSO with MS makes Google look good.
GCPW/GCPfW, Windows Hello, 2FA/MFA related... Is there any connection, relation, progress with the "passwordless" concept announced by Microsoft and Google with regards to be able to use a Yubikey, or other security keys, when logging in?
Only getting the feature when logging in with a Microsoft account would be detrimental for the expansion of GCPfW.
As per @kim_nilsson I'd be interested in password-less signin for GCPfW as well as web applications using the Google Authenticator app. On a trusted device, I want Google to skip the password, and just pop up the "are you trying to sign in" prompt on the users' device, and they just hit yes.
for anyone looking for it, the recording is available at this link
Amazing!
Customer upgrades from 'G Suite Basic having additional ad-on Google Drive storage of 600GB' to 'Workspace Business Standard'.
Then does Ad-on Google Drives automatically gets upgraded to Google Workspace Business Standard pooled storage or any specific action is required considering above.

Hi Rabia,
That depends where you want to be in the future, so before start doing Certifications you need to plan your career`s future , if you have a plan then i can answer your question.
Please let me know.
Thanks
Hi sir,
Thank you for your response. I don't have any big plans, I am a Telecommunication engineer and have work experience related to ICT teachings in school now I want to switch my career to the corporate world in Cloud engineering that's why I wanted to have this certification " google associate cloud engineer". before that, I have done a small certification from IBM in "essential technologies for business professionals".
I would be very interested to understand whether there is the ability for Google Cloud Identity to be used for Workflow to provision/deprovision based of a feed from an HR platform.
The answer is of course yes, but you need something doing the actual workflow.
There are several API tools that can take pretty much any CSV file you throw at it and manage your users accordingly. Mainly creating.
If you need suspending/removing users then your incoming data either needs such a field, or you ned to use a sync engine that itself knows when users are "out of scope" and then acts accordingly. GCDS fed from an Active Directory (LDAP) does that.
That's why organisations usually has a sync engine reading from any and all sources, managing an LDAP, and then let GCDS manage user from there.
CI is just one type of license, and is somewhat irrelevant to your question.
Kim is right. There are several tools than can do the job.
In our company we already have an identity solution working with connectors to different services , one of them is Google. It enables provisioning & life cycle tasks such as creating/activation/OU handle/licensing/groups. Nothing to do with CI. Although, as I pointed out yesterday during the event, if I already have licenses for my google accounts why do I need CI licenses? I mean, I have nearly 4000 licenses for Workspace and 160 for Cloud Identity. What's the difference? Still I dont get it.
You don't need CI. 😂👍
CI and CIF is for when you don't want/need to use full Workspace licenses.
Hehe, thanks Kim!
Well... (and again), you'll need CI Premium if you want to use ldap at the very least.
