We're back again for episode #2 of the Workspace webinar series with Goldy Arora. For this session, Goldy will focus on understanding and managing Google Consumer accounts and Work accounts.

Google offers two different types of accounts, consumer accounts, which anyone can create (e.g @gmail.com, @yourdomain.com etc), and corporate or work accounts, which can only be created by Google Workspace or Cloud Identity domain administrators of your business.

It's important to understand the difference between them, which one to use for your business, and how to transition from a consumer to business account correctly.

Join us in this deep dive session to understand the fundamentals of Google user identity, which will help you lay the right foundation for your business to leverage Google products like Workspace, Cloud Platform, Analytics, Ads, and more.

Save your spot by selecting the "Yes" button on the right, and ask your questions in advance by posting a comment below. We hope to see you there!

Interested, but unfortunately I already have something on my calendar. If you have any additional webinars in the future please let me know.

All good, thanks @dkimble. We'll be sure to post the link to the recording and event recap in the Community after the event as well so you can check it out later👍

Thanks @Lauren_vdv

Hi, just checking on the meeting recording. I got double booked and couldn't join...

@Willie_Turney  @Lauren_vdv is the meeting recording available?

Also interested in the VOD - maybe I'm blind, but not seeing the upload anywhere

Was a g suite legacy user. Created it for family/personal use. Will we ever be capable of taking advantage of family sharing services for home assistant, youtube, youtube music, and whatever else I'm not thinking of?

Not unless Google completely changes the way they think of who should decide what a Workspace user can and can't do.

Currently Google feel they should decide.

To be fair when I signed up for this it wasn't called Workspace... it was called g suite. If that's the case maybe they should introduce a new service called Personalspace for users such as myself that signed up to use my domain for my personal use. I would even pay for it if they bundled it with youtube/ytmusi/email and other services. At the moment I have my domain email account and a gmail account for all services. It's ridiculous.

I will definitely try to participate because your method of creating bulk user is very useful.

What's the best setup for OS setup with Google Workspace? The current one is somewhat limited.

How to avoid conflict profile setup? How to set up one profile in the Chrome browser while your organization uses a different OS device management like JAMF and Mosyle?

Hi Google Workspace is a set of SaaS applications which essentially run on Google Cloud. These are not OS dependent. These apps run on any Browser. Google Chrome is one of the options so you can use Microsoft Edge and Safari as well. Plus all the Apps like Docs, Sheets, Slides, GMail etc., have App Versions as well which you can download and install on any device from Google Playstore and App Store.

What are best practices for deactivating an employee if you want to continue forwarding their email with an away message? It'd be great to suspend all accounts that aren't in use, but that doesn't seem possible - the process is a bit discombobulated.

Best practice is always to suspend an account so it can't be used again (security). Sender always receive an email saying account is no longer in use. If you would like to keep the email address alive you could use alias : rename the account to something else and asign the original email as an alias to another account.
