Gmail allows for users to use confidential mode as a method to protect data shared. Applying this feature disables the possibility for the end user to print or download the attachments shared. Is there a way for these features to be configured to allow the end user's ability to print and download attachments but retain the authentication method provided in the confidential more?
Hello Edgar,
According to the following Google Workspace Admin Help Article the confidential mode is working as it should be:
I'm wondering what would happen if the file wasn't added as an attachment and instead you copy and pasted a hyperlink as text. To simplify what I'm stating is to remove the hyperlink from the file address text. Looking forward to an update and possibly brainstorming a work-around.
Another work-around may be to add a hyperlink to the document in the body of the attached file.

Thank you Kevin for the mention ๐
I forgot to say when adding the link to first change the document share settings via Google Drive. If needed you can use an advanced setting in the Google drive files share setting to prevent printing, resharing and downloading of the document. You can also pick out who can view, comment or edit the file.
Best,
Draz
Draz is right, this is working as intended and cannot be modified as it would conflict with the purpose of this type of confidential email. As an alternative you could explore Drive Sharing and having the link be included in the email
