Any way to setup an OOO for a meeting room?

Hello,

We are having construction on our office building in the near future which will bring down electricity to the building for several days.  SO, I would like to create an OOO event for all the conference rooms so they auto-decline all the meetings scheduled with a note, which will alert folks in case they didn't read the emails/slacks we have sent out on the subject.  However, when I try to create one as a delegate of the room, it switches to me.  It only allows me to create an event, which doesn't save because it conflicts with all the meeting the room has on the calendar.

Let me know if anyone has a solution, thanks,

-Hal

Not sure if this helps, but you may want to take a look at this help article: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/44105?sjid=7162255115447472130-NA

Check the "Auto-accept invitations" section and "Set Calendar Hours" - maybe one of those would work?

I would also test with another account that doesn't have admin access to the calendar if you haven't already.

Have you considered using a shared calendar tool like Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook? You could create an "Out of Office" event for the meeting rooms and invite all relevant team members. This way, everyone gets a notification and it's visible on their calendars, reducing the chance of missed communication. Also, it might be worth reaching out to your IT department or whoever manages your office software. They might have some tricks up their sleeve or be able to adjust settings to accommodate your needs. Have you ever looked into virtual office spaces? I stumbled upon this one https://www.metroffice.com/office-space/virtual-office-space/. Seems like an interesting concept, especially with the unpredictability of office disruptions.
