There are a number of paid SAAS options for backing up Google Drive. We went a different route. We are using a Synology NAS running their Active Backup for Google Workspace.  It is an on-prem solution that can subsequently be backed up to the cloud if you want. Depending on how much data you have, the NAS can be less than $1000.

It will back up Shared Drives and individual user accounts. I set it up over a year ago and it runs near real time backups of our Shared Drives.

Thanks @b_gorsky1  , As I checked related topics, lots of customers are not satisfied with Synology support and services.  Shall we pay Synology for using this service or we just pay for purchasing our own promised NAS and related services?

I have not had to utilize Synology support very much at all so I can't really comment on the quality of it. The rare occasion I did contact support, my issue was resolved relatively quickly.

If you don't want to roll your own solution and maintain your own hardware, we always recommend afi.ai backup. It's cloud-based, backs up directly from cloud to cloud on an API level and retains all native file formats and metadata. It's rock solid, very easy to use and set up. Archived users are free. Many other Google partners will give the same recommendation.

Spanning Backup or Backupify (both part of same company) are the most cost effective backup solutions with unlimited storage in my opinion.

Please check them out ๐Ÿ‘

Spanning does *not* have unlimited storage. It's false advertising. In fact, none of the cloud backup providers actually have unlimited storage.

They are not unlimited anymore. Unfortunately Kaseya killed the unlimited option

@cryptochrome  thanks for sharing it.

In includes a serious set of  accusations.

If it is true it's really bad,but it's a one user testimonial in some random website, however I don't belongs to any of these organisations,so we don't know the truth.

I know that many people are using this solution and Google resellers recommending these solutions, that's the reason I have recommended this product, however if there is such a issue in real we should consider other solutions.

I could see that afi.ai got good reviews and things, probably that could be the one.

It's the user's choice.

It is an unfortunate truth that affects most backup providers, including Afi. They also speak about unlimited storage on their website, but when you look into the fine print of the contracts, you'll see it's only 50 gigs per user.

I understand the limits, because cloud storage is actually one of the most important aspects in cloud infrastructure. It would be economic insanity for any provider to give unlimited storage (while they have to pay for every single gigabyte). What I don't understand is the false advertising from all these vendors. It's really bad.

I guess the moral of the story is this: Don't trust the advertisements, always check the fine print.
