Blocking access to Google Drive but leave access to Google Shared Drives

We have been acquired by a company, therefore we are in the middle of migrating some users data off our system into the other companies environment.

Migrated data includes: personal email, calendar, contacts and drive files.

Data not migrated (and still being accessed) is Google Chat, Google shared drives and shared mailboxes among other services.

For data integrity, we want to ensure people are no longer using their Google Drive. Can you advise how we can block their access to Google Drive while still allowing them to access Google Shared Drives.

Anyone had to do this before?

You could try setting those folks' individual quotas to zero. That theoretically would block email and MyDrive and Photos, but allow them to use Shared Drives (which have their own quotas).

Let us know how it goes: I'm curious!

Cheers,

Ian
