Hello, I sent out a mass invite to an event using google calendar and as people accept/decline, it shows me that they have accepted or declined via a checkmark or a red X. However, there is one person that says they accepted but it shows that they did not respond. They are using a yahoo.com address so could that be why?
DMARC Policies: Yahoo has strict DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) policies in place to prevent email spoofing. When someone with a Yahoo address accepts a Google Calendar invite, their email client might send the response in a way that violates Yahoo's DMARC policy because it's originating from a Google server but using a Yahoo "From" address. This could cause Google's system to not properly process the acceptance.
"Out-of-Band" Responses: Some email clients, like Yahoo Mail, might offer "out-of-band" response buttons directly within the email preview. If the recipient used this method to accept, it might not always communicate back to Google Calendar in the standard way.
Syncing Issues: There could be a temporary glitch or delay in the synchronization between Yahoo's email system and Google Calendar.
Yahoo Calendar Settings: The recipient might have some specific settings in their Yahoo Calendar that are interfering with the response being sent back correctly.
Google Calendar Settings (Less Likely in this Scenario): While less probable when others are responding correctly, there are some Google Calendar settings related to alternate email addresses that could theoretically play a role if the Yahoo address is somehow linked as an alternate to a Google account.
