Hello - I am wondering if it's possible to change the admin on a workspace account and if I do can I delete the orignial admin account that was used to set up the account?
Hi @JRFD1111 ,
Hope you're doing great! Yes, you can change the account which is in charge of the organization, the new admin account should be create under the primary domain or your organization (just in case you were thinking to create on a secondary domain only), to do that, please follow this steps:
Regards
Yes, because it will be treated as a regular super admin account
Regards
Will doing this change the email address for logging in? If not, is that possible?
If you have created another super admin account on the newly promoted domain, it should be accessible via the credentials for that account
hello,
I did the same, changing the primary admin, but I still cannot delete the original primary admin ("This action isn't available for this user.")
It's a totally unnecessary user, I only had to create it because it was not possible to create a Google Workspace with an account that already had a Google account associated with it.
Thanks in advance
It sounds frustrating! Even after changing the primary admin, Google Workspace sometimes restricts deleting the original admin due to system requirements. You might need to check if the account is tied to billing or any active services. Try contacting Google Support for a solution. Hope you get it sorted soon! ๐
