Cannot change business plan upon signup

I am trying to create a Google Workspace account but for some reason I am locked into the Business Plus plan ($18/month/user). I want to sign up for the Business Starter plan ($6/month/user), but there is no option to change the selected plan during registration. I tried to delete my account and start fresh, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that either.

This is extremely frustrating. I shouldn't have to sign up for the free trial of the most expensive plan just to create an account only to have to downgrade it to the desired plan once I can actually access the admin panel. What kind of terrible user experience is that?

Hello!

Try to sign for the trial then remove the business plan subscription.

After that, try to aquire an business start through subscription panel of your admin console.

Sign up with Business Plus then immediately down your subscription to Business Starter on the Subscriptions page of the Admin Console. Here's the direct link to the subscriptions page. Once you're there, click on Google Workspace Business Plus then Upgrade or Downgrade.

Be aware that by downgrading you'll lose a number of end-user features and security/admin controls. Details

I am having the exact same issue. I want to sign up with Business Starter, but it won't allow me to select my plan option at checkout. Very frustrating!

I'm having the same problem - ridiculous that I can't sign up on the starter package and that I'm forced into an upsell and have to use business plus. Why not allow users to choose their plan. So stupid

This is a terrible model for business. It's like going to the grocery store for a gallon of milk and they sell you the cow! @Google needs to fix this issue immediately.

Agree! it's so bad. Has caused me to do research to find other companies to go with becuase this doesn't make any sense

It also means that it's impossible to use the referral programme because I only get referral codes for the Starter and Standard. Crafty.

Same here! It also means that you can't use any referral codes when signing up for clients, because you only get codes for Starter and Standard, which have to be used upon sign-up.
