I recently became aware that there is a limit on how many mails you can send per day from a google workspace email account.
This limit doesn't end until after the account has spent 100$ + 60 days from the last payment.
This means that for small and medium accounts, it might take months to YEARS to overcome this limitation!
I spoke to the tech support over at google and they aren't able to do anything about it.
I realize that this is a security/privacy issue and is put in place to prevent bots or spamming.
But I think there should be a way to vet and approve legitimate businesses and accounts and not have them wait over a year.
@BSG_Admin Yes, It is an unfortunate fact
IKR?! 🙂
Gmail users can send up to 2000 messages to up to 10,000 recipients per day.
How many do you require?
Can some of these messages me offloaded to a bulk-mailing service or email marketing platform?
Interested to know your use case as I've never had a client come close to hitting Gmail's limits.
@christiannewman The limit you have mentioned is when you have the so-called paid account for which you have to pay a total of 100$ and you also will have to complete 60 days after reaching that payment threshold.
until then your account is considered a trial account in terms of mail sending and your mail sending limits will be of trial accounts, these trial account limits are not listed in any public documents from google, even if we reach out to google support they won't be able to reveal the same.
Usually, this will be used by the marketing, sales people to send bulk promotions emails and stuff like that.
@BSG_Admin I hope you already know that you can pay the 100$ in advance if you wish and then the monthly bills will be deducted from the outstanding balance until your 100$ is done.
This is the only possible workaround to speed up your process.
Similar limits apply for Youtube on new accounts.
Indeed, the only way around it is to wait until the limit has expired (based on spend and days since the account was created).
I recommend following @ajojose33333344's prepayment suggestion, in which case you'll only have to wait a maximum of 60 days.
