Cloud Search - 3rd party connectors

We have a customer with Workspace Enterprise Plus who is looking to add a third party data source to Cloud Search, but they have been unable to save the connector from https://admin.google.com/ac/apps/cloudsearch/datasources

As I understand it, Workspace Enterprise Plus includes Cloud Search connectors for third party sources (https://workspace.google.com/pricing.html), but based on testing and documentation from a support page (https://support.google.com/a/answer/9100665), it looks like it requires "Cloud Search Platform" license to be added.

Could anyone from Google please confirm? This is delaying the project for the customer. We have opened a P2 support case last week but have been unable to reach a resolution in a timely manner.

You do need a Cloud Search platform license added to the console for Cloud Search to integrate with third-party data sources.

I am not from Google but I have worked on a similar deployment before and we had a customer on Enterprise Plus and they still needed a Cloud Search platform license.

thanks, it's a bit frustrating as it seems to be stuck in support loop as they are ill-equipped to answer questions related to licensing requirements for particular feature set (as Google advertises that Cloud Search connector is included with Enterprise Plus).

Looks like Google has updated the wording on https://workspace.google.com/terms/user_features.html

additional search and assist capabilities for content within third party data sources (which are only available to customers with at least 500 End User licenses), and enhanced security and control features for Administrators (including Google Workspace Security Center). If a customer wishes to implement a trial, proof of concept evaluation, or deployment of third party data indexing in Cloud Search, then that customer must do so via a Cloud Search certified partner.
