Copy a Google Sheet using File Explorer

We have a number of folders with excel files and Word docs associated with a potential project. When that project is won we need to copy all the folder structure to a new  folder for ongoing projects.

Well i was trying to convert the team over from Excel to Sheets and have discovered that I cannot copy any folder that contains a google sheet to a new location. Lacking a simple workaround I guess we will not be converting to Sheets any time soon

Yeah, I've hit this problem and it's a mystery why this is not a feature. It can be done with Apps Script but I understand it's usually recommended to use the GAM utility:

FWI if you have a Chromebook handy, its file manager can duplicate Drive folders and files including Google Docs and Sheets.

I am not aware of all of your considerations, but maybe consider using shortcuts instead of copying the folders
