Access permissions (ACLs) in Google Drive are 'additive', in that access cannot be specifically changed to remove an access level.

A solution that has been recommended in the past is to split the Shared Drive and give access accordingly.

I understand thank you.

it possible on windows servers or Microsoft 365 but no Google Workspace it's very strange.

I thought it was a basic feature

Hello Florent,
If you would like to give specific permissions, to a folder insight a shared drive, then you could use an Access Group - (similar to a security group) you could actually add that label, and add the members you want that access to be applied to, then you grant access to the folder only, (they will see folder under their "shared with me section") they could add a shortcut for ease of access as well, but if you want to give them access at the Root level of the shared drive, you are automatically given access to every single folder/file that exist under it, let me know if it helps, or if you need more details, i can elaborate differently with examples if needed.

Hello,

Thanks for reply, but it does not help me.

I want :

- delete all access right for all folder and subfolders.

or add right on parent folder with the same rights to subfolders (by inheritance)

it possible on windows servers or Microsoft 365 but no Google Workspace it's very strange.

The permissions model Google uses for Shared Drives is becoming increasingly common, and does have some real advantages for sustainability and maintainability over the long term. Box also uses a very similar model, and has a nice video at https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697254-Understanding-Folder-Permissions that explains the concepts. (Itโ€™s of course somewhat different than Shared Drives, but the ideas are quite similar.)
