Do data regions apply to Shared drives

I want to apply data regions by group or OU. the question I have will this also apply to shared drives?

Would this be dependent on the membership of the shared drive and what happens if you have mixed membership where some people are in an OU with data region set to EU and others are set to US

Because data on a shared drive isn't owned by a user but rather by the organization, the region policy should be the root policy.  However, I haven't proven this.  Good question, KAM

The help article specifically doesn't mention shared drive, which leaves us without a definite answer. For a global company with a team in the EU requiring data to be in the EU, possibly using Shared drives is not an option.

The information I have from our Google CE is that for Shared Drive, the Data Region is applied at the Root OU for the Organisation, it is not currently possible to have this based by OU or the users who have access to the Shared Drive. It is in the roadmap to place Shared drives under OU's, so it might be assumed that Data regions could be applied based on OU for those Shared Drives.

@chris_barrow4 shared drives are part of drive so I wouldn't expect them to be separated out but agree, if you need veracity, I would open a support ticket from Google and ask them to weigh in specifically! -KAM
