Domain and URL

I secured an email domain. But I guess I was supposed to secure the website first? I am wanting to secure the URL that matches my email but it says it’s not available. The URL isn’t being used though. If I type it in no website comes up. What do I do? Do I just need to start over with a URL then create matching email domains?

@Jontbm in general, you buy the rights to use a domain name on a year to year basis from a domain registrar.  Once you have those rights, you can then use subdomains such as www.xyz.tld.  Then you can put up a service for the http protocol to host a website and provide URLs like www.xyz.tld/contact-us.html

To check if a domain is available, you want to try and register it somewhere like enom.com.  Just checking if they have a website doesn't mean the domain is available.

Does that help?  Without specific domains/urls you are trying to use, it's a bit of a guess work here.
