Hi there,
I recently opened a workspace small business account.
I think I should have assigned to workspace individual.
How can I switch to individual?
The critical question to ask yourself is, "self, do I need a custom domain, or would gmail.com suffice?" If you need a custom domain (and all the security benefits that come with it), stick with Google Workspace (business). If you're okay with either, but may have multiple users, stick with Google Workspace (business, for enhanced security/control). If you're okay with either, but will never have multiple users and won't benefit from additional features Google Workspace (business) offers, go with Google Workspace (individual).
There's no smooth migration path between business and individual... to switch from business to individual, you'd cancel your business account, creating a gmail.com account, and signing up for individual. Your email address will obviously be different.
If you need to migrate data between the two, it's a bit trickier than that.
He is referring to Google's new "Google Workspace Individual" plan.
There is. Google Workspace Individual has custom domain and basically most of the other Workspace features. See my post below for instructions on how to switch your plan.
If you are on a flexible monthly payment plan, this should work:
If you don't see Google Workspace Individual in the purchase screen, you will have to reach out to Google support and they can enable it for you.
Hi V,
Thanks for the support.
Not sure if it will solve my issue. When registering to the business account some of my Chromebook functionalities vanished.
I have been reaching out to support but they were helpful but have not been able to solve the issues or confirm the issues will not occur with the individual account.
I gues I'll just have to give it a try
Business accounts are subject to the policies set in the Google Admin Console under Devices > Chrome. You can modify them to provide the desired functionality.
Google Workspace Individual does not have a Google Admin Console and therefore you don't have the ability to customize Chrome policies.
Sorry for the late reply.
No..It's not there to choose from.
