Email recovery

We have a business partner that is leaving  in the new 1 month and we are worried that  he will delete all the emails under his email address.  I see there is a email recovery option will that reinstate all dumped email and including his history. We have had clients stating they are looking to sue us for his poor dealings so we need to be able to  search for email and what's been happening in the history.

I tried emailing google or trying to talk to some one but there is no one or anything that allows me to do so

@DMH I would recommend you go to eDiscovery.google.com and apply a legal hold to this account right now. If you don't have access to that URL, you might need to upgrade your workspace instance to include one with the Vault product.

Hth, KAM

Hi Kam, I cant do anything until he leaves as it will notify him of what we are doing and we want him to leave and not give us any other grief. What is a vault product

This is exactly what Google Vault is for. Google Vault retains Gmail (and other) history without any user interaction or notification whatsoever. Definitely ensure you have a default retention rule in place for Gmail, and place a hold on that user's data (to ensure anything not retained by the default retention rule is held). You can learn more about how to use Vault here.

@DMH vault is Google's ediscovery tool.

Recommend you implement it now. A user wouldn't know about the issue and a legal hold would be prudent based on the threatened lawsuits you mentioned.

I would not make plans that you can restore materials from the account.  KAM

Agreed with @KAM I would also suggest putting the user on hold in Google vault.
