G Suite Legacy Free -- Still Admin for Domain I No Longer Manage?

About 6 or more years ago I did some web design work for a client and, as part of the bundle, I set her up Gmail on her custom domain. At the time I would have been the Super Admin for the domain, as I  did the setup through my Google Admin console.

However, some time back in 2019 or earlier, I stopped doing any work for that client and so I remvoved her domain from my Admin console [at least I'm assuming that's what I did, as there is absolutely no reference to her domain anywhere in my Admin console today].

I've recently been contacted by this person to say that she's been locked out of her Gmail account with the [familiar to so many lately] message about needing to provide billing info and telling her to contact her administrator.

Checking through my junk mail, I find a couple from Google telling me I need to upgrade the domain to Workspace or lose access to it. Which is obviously what has happened.

However, as per above, I have nothing whatsoever in my Admin console relating to this person's domain. So, it seems that, even though I removed the domain from  my Admin console years ago, Google still has me on record as the super admin for that domain.

I thought I'd try the obvious of adding the domain back in again, to see if I could remove myself as super admin from it. But I'm unable to get past the 'Add a domain' screen....

...as the option to add a secondary domain is not selectable and I don't want to add it as an alias to my primary domain.  Presumably another consequence of the Workspace upgrade car crash. The gift that keeps on giving!

So how the hell do I resolve this one. I've no access to anything to do with this ex-client's domain in my Admin console. But Google insists that I'm the admin for the domain and won't let the person who actually owns the domain acess it at all. How can she setup billing info to unlock her Gmail account, when she keeps getting redirected to me as admin for the domain.... when I've got no access to it either?
