GWSMO Sync Issues

Does anyone else find GWSMO one of the most clunkiest and inefficient tools?  I am struggling with this and using Google Workspace support has been far from helpful - they either push you back to the domain your email is based OR push you out to Microsoft.

Issues that I have:
- calendar would not sync from outlook back to google calendar no matter what was tried (cannot tell you how many times I added and removed profiles, reinstalled outlook, etc.)
- when using the calendar in outlook to synch back to google workspace it has limited functionality of important features such as: check names, location (which has to be manually entered)

Migrating my domain to GWS took over a week of errors and it feels like this was a huge mistake!!!!

Am I the only one that faces these technical issues as Google, Microsoft and my Domain lo

Using Outlook will only limit Gmail and Calendar functionality, and introduce unnecessary security risks. Why not use Gmail and Calendar directly for a more functional, integrated and secure experience?

No offense, but the offering from Google is a working Google Workspace Sync, and users workflows around Outlook have been built up over years. Gmail is still the new kid on the street, a buggy one at that.

@ynot916 sorry I think you have misunderstood @christiannewman The reason you're having issues is you're trying to use Google Workspace in a non-Google Workspace way. You're trying to use Google Workspace as the backend for Outlook and that's never been the intention of Google Workspace: Workspace has its own, far-superior, interfaces via the web, not stuck with the legacy of Outlook.

Instead of wanting to shoehorn Google Workspace into Outlook, drop Outlook and use Google Workspace as intended, via the web interfaces, and you will have a far better experience.  Google only offers the sync to Outlook for those die-hard users who refuse to move to the better web interfaces: those users are choosing to have a worse Google Workspace experience, and it's not up to Google to improve its offering via Outlook.  It's like the people who buy a dishwasher and think they need to pre-wash the dishes, so wash the dishes by hand first, then put them in the dishwasher, instead of just using the dishawasher and getting the benefit of not washing the dishes by hand!
