Hello everyone,
I am facing major difficulties with Google support who do not seem to be aware that Gemini App is still considered as a Core Service accessible as soon as you have a valid Google Workspace license (Enterprise Std or Plus type, which is our case).
The problem we are currently experiencing is that, even if the service is active either on the org or for a group, we are unable to access Gemini App. The only solution is to check the User Access box but this no longer allows us to remain within the framework of the Google Workspace Terms.
Is it possible to help us on this subject? Am I the only one with this problem?
PS: we are in Europe, are there any limitations known for European customers?
Thank you for your help.
Can you share a screenshot (with any user email address or similar redacted or blurred) of what happens with when a user@company.com email address with a Google Workspace Enterprise license logs in to gemini.google.com ? what is the actual isse you are seeing that is preventing access ?
> only solution is to check the User Access box
What box is this ?
Hi,
Thanks for your help ๐
When a user with a Google Workspace Enterprise (Std or Plus) is trying to access Gemini App, he has this error message :
The box I mentioned is this one :
When it is unchecked, access is denied (1st screen). When it is checked, access is working but there is no enterprise-grade data protections
Thanks! the screenshot is helpful,
A couple of checks: can you validate the user is not in an unsupported language or region setting according to
https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/13575153?hl=en
and how are you concluding the "no enterprise-grade data protections" piece ? i.e what in the gemini.google.com UI is indicating that ?
Can you show a screenshot of this same interface with a test account with the toggle checked ?
Hi: Could you please share the case number as well ? We will get you a clear official answer through the case.
Dear @KevinApodaca @royans
Thanks for your help. The ticket number is 56424637.
Currently, the support explains to us this statement : "From the details that you have shared, apparently there were recent changes from the Admin Console based on the logs that would turn off access for the Gemini App dated 2025-01-10 turning off the Gemini App Access without any licenses. Please do let us know if the issue still persists if the option "You can allow all users to access the Gemini app, regardless of license." is turned ON for the organization. This option itself would allow your users to access gemini.google.com without any issues. "
On our side, the issue is we are expecting this in Gemini to guarantee the confidentiality of our data :
This screenshot comes from an another company we work with. The user has no Gemini Business or enterprise licences, and the box "You can allow all users to access the Gemini app, regardless of license." is unchecked.
We did a lot of tests with users in France, Spain, Italy, etc. Browsers with french or english configuration as example. We still have the issue.
Thanks for advising us.
Kind regards.
