Gmail Interface including Chat and Spaces

Hello,

anyone seeing this updated interface? With the left side pane where you can pick between Gmai, Chat and Spaces? 

We have chat enabled however we still see the standard interface.

Yes, @dpavlov I've been seeing this for a long time.  Check your settings with "Chat and Meet" would be my first idea. -KAM

It is turned on in both admin and in Gmail

What are you expecting it to look like?  I *think* you might have collapsed some of your view.

Click the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) icon in the top left.  Then hit the down arrows on spaces/chat/etc.  Does that fix your issue?  -KAM

I know KAM was helping out so I am not taking this away from him but I recall when my Gmail interface changed, I actually had to click on this "try it now" that would show up on the bottom right hand corner of my Gmail....so did you by any chance get one of those 'try the new Gmail view' and dismissed it? I actually don't know what happens if a user/admin dismisses one of those meaning when it comes back and so forth. But I do have one other question for you....if you go to https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/general, do you have anything called "main menu" in general and it has two choices for me which are "new view" and "original view"? (I do recall what the previous view looked like so I am understanding what you are indicating, dpavlov.)

Replying to myself to say wow, I thought this was out to everyone (since it was even in public pictures from the middle of 2021 namely https://cloud.google.com/blog/products/workspace/helping-business-with-new-additions-to-google-works...) however today about 10 minutes ago I was notified by someone that articles were released today about the view...articles namely being https://9to5google.com/2022/01/31/new-gmail-view-redesign/ and https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/2022/01/new-integrated-view-for-gmail.html.

Update: Google has revealed a help center article about the integrated view at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/11555490 (I believe that came out this week). Looks like according to https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/2022/01/new-integrated-view-for-gmail.html, the new help center article may have come out yesterday. 

Opt in to the new view

Important: To use the new view, you must turn on Chat in Gmail and set Chat to the left hand panel. Learn how to turn on Chat in Gmail. 

1. At the top right, click Settings .
2. Under “Quick settings,” click Try out the new Gmail view.
3. In the new window, click Reload.

@dpavlov here's more information and Google's blog post on it as well, @Penelope so definitely apologize for the confusion. I thought we were referring to the update to integrate them from a few months ago.

Prior to Feb 8, the only way to see the new integrated view would be to be a member of an alpha/beta group, and have chat set to left-side.

It's been quite some time now and although it was released for all, we still don't see it.

We're still in the opt-in phase. Have you opted-in via settings?

Don's even see such an option in my settings

I too do not have the option in settings for "opt in". Nothing in the help article is helpful in my case either.
