Hi everyone! We recently deployed Google Workspace and, because we also use Microsoft Office, we encouraged everyone downloaded Google Drive for desktop to more easily access and open Office files straight from their native file explorers.
We have noticed that the "date modified" for all files and folders is constantly updating on Google Drive for desktop, even when the files are not opened/modified. The "last modified" date on Google Drive in the browser does not change.
For MacOS users, the date modified changes anytime a user clicks within a folder. At that time, the folder changes to the time when the user clicked within it. For Windows users, all files and folders are updated daily (even when not accessed in any sort of way) to match the current day and time.
Has anyone else experienced or resolved this issue? We have a lot of date-sensitive information and use the "date modified" column often to sort and scan for specific files and folders.
Thanks for any insights!
I am having this same issue with my users is there a fix for it. Google support says delete the DriveFS folder under google AppData location. But the modification dates still break.
