Google Drive of Desktop mirror "file/folder exclusion"

We need an option in the Google Drive for Desktop (formerly FileStream) application to exclude a file or folder from "mirror" mode in the Google Drive desktop application. The option would facilitate the ability to save space on the local drive and allow the file/folder to be "CLOUD ONLY". This exclusion is available via the STREAM option, it should also be an option within the MIRROR option ofGoogle Drive for Desktop.

This is a must have feature.   Google, What are you doing!?

Hi have lost this characteristic is hard for us because our work is slow and no faster how used to be, we had many backup files of projects done only in the cloud but now all of them have to sync without other options.

So we need help with this because itยดs become difficult.

What label should I place it under ?

In the Feature Ideas forum there is a label for "Drive".

This is an absolute must have! I have more than 4TB in my Google Drive Cloud and can't sync everything to my harddrive. On the other hand I have a dedicated SSD drive for the Google Drive folder to sync with and don't want it to be on a "virtual drive" which is mapped to C drive and has literally no space at all to store any huge files from Google Drive.

This feature is essential to people with large drive content that don't have large local drives. I jsut switched everything over to Stream my flies to my local drive to save space, but now my workflow is completely cut off because I depend heavily on mac's finder search function--if one streams files from the new Google Drive, those files are not indexed by mac's finder search. PLEASE GOOGLE, fix this issue!

We had this ability with backup and sync. Please add the ability to exclude a folder while mirroring. Even a file extension exclusion would help in my case although that is not as useful.

My use case scenario was that I was doing a google take out export to my drive to then suck it into my NAS. As the takeout was created, it slammed my machine eating up the disk space and necessitating having to purchase additional data (not all plans are unlimited).
