Google Workspace Access in China

Hi,

I would like to seek your advices about some question below. I'm referring it from one of my counterpart based in China branch office in Shanghai. There is also another branch office in Hong Kong.

  1. Some China companies have overseas projects and they have a small team members handling emails with overseas clients. Customers may just wanted to migrate or create some emails for to handle these oversea clients. In this case, can customers register their domain mail service with 2 different services provider๏ผŸ (Exp: Tencent to handle China business, & Google handle oversea business๏ผ‰
  2. Some China customers inquire if their domain name is registered with a China local provider, and they would like to register mail service from Google. Will there be any issue?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

YK

@rickyho282828  In my opinion i guess it is possible.

If you are using and managing it out of china then that shouldn't be a problem.

what you can do is you can use a china registered domain and try to signup to google workspace if it is working then that means there is no issues as such.

@rickyho282828 Ok, so i just tried with a domain xyz.cn as a test and i got this :

"Google Workspace does not currently support domains in this country,"

So it seems like you cannot use the .cn extension domains for sure, but you can try the other domains the same way.

just collect the domain name from your customer, go to google workspace signup page and simply try to signup with their domain.

If it is not allowed you will get an error on the "what's your domain name?" page.

, if it is allowed you will be taken to the "use this domain to set up the account?" , cancel the setup at this stage and then inform the user that it can be used.

Hi @ajojose33333344 , thank you for your response.  They have found an alternative way and solution from the Google Resellers.

@rickyho282828 Oh great, glad to hear that!!
