Hello everyone,
I currently have Google Drive but I'm facing a bit of a challenge. My business is based in Europe, while my freelancers and clients are in the USA. I need to cover my freelancers' call expenses in the USA so they don't end up with high phone bills.
What I'm struggling to understand is the connection between Google Workspace and Google Voice. Do I need a Workspace account to use the Voice calling app? If so, do my freelancers also need a Workspace account? If that's the case, it might get too expensive to use Google Voice.
Could you please clarify how everything works and whether it's possible to get a prorated cost for upgrading to Workspace from Google Drive, since both services include Google Drive?
Thank you!
@Benito1980 Overall, I think you are being too frugal here. If you have a business and you are using contractors, you really want to consider data ownership as a key concern.
With Workspace and the use of shared drives, the data owner is the shared drive. However, if you have a bunch of people using Gmail accounts, you also have different terms and conditions for using that data for aggregate marketing and AI training purposes.
Recommend you consider workspace and using more with Google Meets to reduce costs. Google Voice for Business is an additional license and may not help you reduce your telephony costs for international calls.
