Google drive app folder sharing issue in IOS

The new update of google drive app (IOS system ) has an issue with folder sharing via link .
where the link is being structured as /file instead of /folder which leads to an error message 
of (no preview available ) if opened via browser but only can be opened by drive app

I tested it on many devices to be certain about it ,  and the result was that the previous versions did not have an issue with folder sharing via link but once upgraded to the new version the issue appeared in all the devices. 

Does anyone have the same issue ? would be glad if you share your experience about it .

For example if you share a folder via link ( from my drive section ) with your colleague
and he doesn't have drive app , the browser will not be able to access it 
why ? because the link structure is not accurate , it should be drive.google.com/folder/
but it's being created as drive.google.com/file   , which leads to error ( no preview available ) message if opened in the browser

Same issue. I have isolated it to only my IOS device. Everything else, multiple drive accounts, both business and personal, pc and Ipad work no problem. The initial solution google tech support provided was to copy an old shared link and use that....thanks.
