Google meet recording ownership for copied meetings

I have the following issue.

I had a colleague (let's call them X) set up a recurring meeting in my workspace.

Some time later X left the company but didn't transfer ownership of the meeting to me. So what I did was create a copy of the meeting so that I became the organiser and invited all of the required people. We then had an admin log in as X and delete the old meeting.

When I record these meetings, according to the docs, the ownership of the recording should go to the organiser. However, what happens is that X is always the owner of the recording (X is not on the invite list for the new meeting).

What's happened here?

I figure that the only way to fix this is to create a brand new version of this meeting invite, that's not a copy of the old one. Is there another way to fix it?
