History of access to Folders

Is it possible to find out who has accessed a folder? We have had files deleted and it appears the tracking was turned off so we could not see who had accessed the folder and deleted the files. Is there any way we can check the history of who has gone in at all?

You should be able to get this information using the Security Investigation Tool using Drive log events as the data source. In particular you can consider looking for things based on the Event being "delete"
