How do I add devices as company owned if the devices have a generic serial number?

Our preferred supplier of PCs makes their own devices. There is no distinct serial number but I do see the devices being use with the user name or the name of the PC. I can see that I am able to upload the serial numbers of devices to mark them as company owned but given that all of our devices have the same generic serial number "System Serial Number".

Is there a way around this? Can I change those serial numbers somehow on the bios? Or is there a way to get them recognised as company owned anyway?

My initial reply was because you're asking a hardware question that is specific to the manufacturer, and possibly to specific models. Someone here might be able to give you an answer if you mention those details.

Except that is not specific to this manufacturer. If you search for that "serial number" you will see others who have had that same issue (but in other scenarios)
