When my family learned about the sudden elimination of the Free Legacy Suite we use to manage everything at home, I've been struggling to update all the family administration I had in the Suite.
A very specific question I have is:
How can I transfer ownership of a folder that I created years ago under @myfamily.com GSuite, to a Gmail account? When I tried, I get a message that I can only transfer ownership within "the same organization (Family)", but now that Google will eliminate the free version, I need to transfer my information to a Gmail account.
Any input is welcome.
Thank you!

@JavierMasini I don't believe this is possible, you are going to get the error you are seeing. Have you tried if you can edit one file by sharing it with the gmail account and then change the owner? If you can, you can then look at GAM, a free open source tool, to automate things. Dear @icrew , Item 1 is what I had originally envisioned, but the second point sounds cleaver. I'll try to see if I can use the "Shared Folder" option to do that. Thank you for the input!
Nothing? Really?

Thank you, Kam! This helps a lot.
Yes, I've tried that. My only problem is that I have over 10 years of files and folders that need this process. This is why I was looking for a "Bulk process".
I appreciate your input, @KAM !
@JavierMasini I would definitely look at GAM to automate it for you. -KAM
There are two ways that I know of to do this, neither of them great:
1) Download the contents of the folder (via Google Drive for Desktop is probably the easiest way, but Google Takeout may be another option), and re-upload them to your Google account.
2) Upgrade your Google Workspace Legacy Free Edition to the Google Workspace Business Standard edition so you can create a Shared Drive and invite your Gmail account, move the items into the Shared Drive, and from there into your Gmail account.
3) Wait for the “no cost option” that’s been mentioned in some of the announcements of this change and in other threads here on GCC that’ll supposedly allow you to keep your Legacy Free account minus its email capabilities.
Hope that helps, at least a little,
Ian
