I can't add external users to a group

The following member could not be added to (group) because it does not meet the group requirements.

If the security tag box is checked when creating the group, it does not allow me to add external users.

Hi @ggonzalez,

Here's the steps to add an external user to your group:

  • Sign in to your Google Admin console as a domain administrator.
  • Go to Menu > Directory > Groups. Click on the name of the group you want to add external users to.
  • Click on the Members tab.
  • Click on the Add members button.
  • Enter the email addresses of the external users you want to add, separated by commas.
  • Click on the Add button.

If you still unable to add external users, please share the screenshot of the error you are seeing for further troubleshooting.

Thanks!

What happens when you click Accept?

Does not add members to the group

Hello!

The mail you're trying to add is really a user or group?
The external user is a google account? My best shot is that it isn't.

Other than that, you're trying to add throught the google groups interface or the admin console?
If it is through the group interface, make sure to check the box to allow external users in the admin console:

Hi,

It is by group and has the configuration for users outside the organization

The problem is solved when creating the group, the security label is not marked

After you add all the users to the group, go to the settings of the created group and enable the security label.
Disadvantage, once the security label is enabled you cannot add any more external users.
To add you must export the current participants and repeat the process again ๐Ÿ˜ž

Did you confirm that the user has a google account?
To check this is simple, try to add the account to gmail, if it says that it doesn't exist, so it's not a google account.

Hello, External accounts are not Google accounts, the company has its ecosystem outside the Google scope, but this should not be an impediment.

Yes of course, but when creating the existing group with the security label, if you try to add an external one it does not allow it, and you can no longer disable the group security. The only solution is to export the participants, delete the group, add the new participants and check the security box again.
