Hi,
I have created specific security groups that are only for use in GDrive for authorisation(For example, a group that is intended for all content managers of a folder so that authorisation becomes easier). I don't want them to be visible to everyone in the general search (Gmail...). Is it possible to hide them? Is there a solution via script?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hannes
Solved! Go to Solution.
I found a solution via Google Apps Manager (GAM) with the following command:
gam update group <Group Email Address> includeinglobaladdresslist false

Hello,
How can I realize this without GAM?
Greetings
I'm also trying to figure out how to do this without GAM. I've read in other posts that GAM is using a deprecated API and your mileage may vary. I was able to hide the email in the Contacts directory by setting the "Who can see group" to "members only".
I am trying to hide it from autofilling in Gmail and other areas. I have ensured that the contact does not exist and tested on a newly created account. I'm 99% sure this setting used to exist but now I have a feeling it was removed from the UI of google.google.com
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello,
today I found a very simply solutin: "Use the Access settings":
But thanks for your help anyway.
Greetings
The setting exists in the Groups Settings (via the web) - Who can see the group
If you set it to Group Members then it is hidden from the directory.
