Let's say my user account is name@abc.com. I have an alias that I use, hello@abc.com. I use hello@abc.com for specific purposes. What I'd like to have happen is: when someone emails hello@abc.com, specifically, they receive an auto-reply, but if they email name@abc.com, they do not receive an auto-reply.
I have not tested this, but this *should* work:
1.) Create a new filter in Gmail settings
2.) As the trigger, use the "To:" field and enter your alias email address
3.) As the action, select "Send Template"
You need to create an email template first that contains your auto-reply text, give it a name and select that in step 3 above.
Hello, did you ever try this out. Does it work?
Even if you set replies to be sent from the address/alias they were received, auto-replies will be sent from primaryuser+canned.response@domain.com.
I'm experiencing the same thing. I cannot get templates to record a new from field. I can set it. When I bring the template back, it is set back to my default address. ๐ฉ
The user account "name@abc.com" has an alias, "hello@abc.com," which serves specific purposes. The desired configuration is to set up an auto-reply for emails sent to "hello@abc.com" while not triggering any auto-reply for emails sent to "name@abc.com."
