MX records and deletion of pre-existing records associated with domain

I've got an issue that I want resolved. For MX records and verification, it says I have to delete any pre-existing records associated with domain on our hosting site. This begs the question, if I delete that on our end, will that change anything drastic on our part?

We are hosting through Orangewebsite and going through cPanel for it.

Hello, 

You cannot have multiple MX records on a domain, otherwise email delivery wont be consistent. If you are planning to work with Google Workspace as your email service, only the MX records from Google are needed. You should be fine if you delete all existing records and add the new records in just a few seconds.
