Hi All,
I have few Google Workspace organizations and its all running independently. Now we want to manage it centrally. We plan to make a parent organization and make the others organizations as child.
The goals are:
1. Make the child organizations users under parent organization workspace
2. Migrate the child organizations as domain alias on parent organization workspace
3. Migrate the user data
4. Migrate all the child organizations billing to be one single billing on parent organizations
I tried to find the documentations, but can't find the right documentation that suites the case.
Any answers would be helpful. Thanks!
@ahmad-rizki Google does not offer anything to help with this and you need to use third-party tools to do this. That's fine for mail and calendar but for Drive it's really not good as they can only copy files over, changing the URLs for the files, meaning that any links in emails or bookmarks will no longer work.
This can be done, but you need a few extra steps.
1. Make the child organizations users under parent organization workspace
3. Migrate the user data
- change primary domain on source
2. Migrate the child organizations as domain alias on parent organization workspace
4. Migrate all the child organizations billing to be one single billing on parent organizations (you do not migrate billing, but you would cancel all previous accounts when migration is finished.)
also, if you are migrating "shared drive" data, you can retain the original link to those files (you need to follow a different procedure than for a standard migration), but the "my drive" files links will change.
