Hello! I am trying to port a number from our existing carrier to Google Voice. The port was accepted and is now being processed. I see on the port page there is an option to assign numbers before the port to ensure a smooth transition. I am not able to do this. I tried to assign the number to the user that will need it, and the port number is not an option; only google voice 'new' numbers. Does the user need to already have a random number assigned in order for me to assign the number what will be ported?

Can I please have some guidance?  Thank you!
