Hello. I would like to request a change to a feature that has been bugging me for months now.
Recently, a feature was added to a lot of Google's products, but it mainly annoys me while I'm using Google Slides. The feature is the addition of an automatic merging system that merges old revisions of the Revision History to cut down on storage space. On paper, this seems like a good feature, and in most cases, it is, which is why I'm not gonna request it to be removed entirely. Rather, I want it to be optional in some way.
For the owner of a slideshow, document, or anything else that has a revision history, you could add a checkbox somewhere that only the owner of that file could access that would be automatically enabled, and, when disabled, makes it so merging of the older revisions doesn't happen anymore. This would be useful to those who don't care about storage space all too much, and it would still provide for those that do, since you can still leave it on if you want.
Also, I would like to request another quality-of-life feature related to the revision history: Sorting options and a search box. I, and probably a handful of others, would absolutely adore something like this to be added. Scrolling through the often insanely long revision history with a pretty lackluster device is a complete chore, so if there was a feature that made it so one could change how the revisions are sorted, select a time period, or simply search for the revision they want.
I can't really predict how difficult either of these would be to implement, I would imagine it wouldn't be that difficult, but I don't know much about any coding language other than Lua, so I don't really know.
