I had an alias set up for a user 1 and also to forward to another user 2. I now want to remove the alias and set it up as a new account so others can access and user1 and user2 no longer receive the emails.
I was able to go into user1, delete the alternate email, and set up the new email account using the old alias name.
I am not able to see where user2 has this linked to her account. Yet, user2 is still receiving the emails and alias is also still showing up as an option to send from.
How can I stop the emails from coming to user2?
Go check the email log search on the reports panel of the admin console.
You can track if a rule was configured and is forwarding the message.
Agree with @Jan-Carlos, probably an auto-forwarding rule in the Admin Console, or user filter in Gmail.
You can use GAM to remove the sendAs address.
