Remove legacy domain (free G Suite) and use NONProfit domain as primary

Hi,

Years ago we used Googles free G Suite offering with a paid for Domain.  This became a legacy product and we changed our organisation name.  The legacy product would not allow me to change anything.

We purchased a new domain and subscribed to Google's nonprofit workspace offering.

Now Workspace still won't allow me to remove the redundant original domain - even though we now subscribe to the nonprofit version of Workspace - stating that it was because the account was originally part of the legacy offering.

I've got nowhere with the "help" chat as they never seem to read the question and I have to start from scratch with every new contact.

The best I've had is that I need to create a new Workspace account and migrate the active domains to that.  But workspace will not let me remove the secondary domains without first deleting all the users.  This defeats the whole point.  We have all of our user email and organisation documents stored in Drive and Gmail!

I find myself renewing for the fifth year our redundant domain for no good reason other than the constant blaze of emails from Workspace about the domain expiring seems to say that I'll lose access to all of my data and my secondary domains.

Does anyone have an idea of how I can get this mess sorted out.  Or even is there a way I can start a proper trouble ticket with a logged history rather than the interactive chat people - who, frankly I am sure are way overworked and dealing with multiple issues simultaneously and stand no chance of properly understanding anything other than an obvious question.

Thanks for your help.

I need to do the same thing.  Let me know if you were able to do this.

I eventually got a ticket raised with Google Customer Support and have had a mare or a time.  They made all sorts of incorrect suggestions.  Now I find myself on a paid for subscription I never chose and never wanted and the only suggestion they give is to pay more.  Desperately unhappy with the atrocious level of support
