Restricted access to youtube during and after trial

I seriously cannot believe that google decided to restrict access to youtube for the first 2 months of the google workspace subscription in a sad and awful attempt to make an extra $30. This decision seems poorly thought through and makes google seem out of touch with the community and the real world. Getting flashbacks from 2013 when google decided to restricty youtube access to Google+ acounts only.
Just my 2cents. Am I the only one here?

Exactly! I set up an account after I was shared a document via Workspace, as it suggested that to skip the authentification code each session.

I just want to WATCH stuff on YT on the side or when researching issues, I don't want to upload anything with this account. Can't even sign out on the YT domain, have to go to another Google domain to do that.
And of course since I created an account, I cannot view the document anymore without signing in again.
