Set a Google Sheet that I am an Editor for into View Only mode

We have a large shared google sheet and although I am an editor and do make edits but rarely. I find myself accidentally modifying cells I undo them but it is annoying and I would like to not worry about accidentally modifying them.

As I do need to make edits to this google sheet I can't make myself a viewer only is there a way toggle between View only mode and edit mode based on my needs?

I found a tool that might work for you: https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/2023/09/lock-files-more-easily-in-google-drive.html?m=1. It actually allows one to lock a file to prevent changes and they have the power to unlock it as well.
