Setting up a webhook for gmail ids

I followed all the steps that are listed in https://developers.google.com/gmail/api/guides/push.

I made a topic, subscribed to it, and then listed a Gmail id as a publisher; however, every time I call the API to watch, I get a forbidden response.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?
