I utilize my android heavily with Gdrive and it never retains the file creation timestamp. My case is simple, move to Gdrive from the phone to free up space. As a work-a-round, I hook-up my phone to my laptop which also has my external drive plugged in and active and automatic synchronization is set to mirror that drive.
~~Please let me know if there's an easier way to preserve file creation timestamps.
I then move the files TO the external drive which retains the timestamps. In turn, Gdrive detects changes to that drive and synchronizes the changes. Timestamps remain as the original timestamp Per when the file was created/modified.
