Transferring the domain to Google Workspace

Hello,
I have a problem with my company domain for email lvsolar.cz registered with Seznam Profi, where I created it and also manage all the company emails. Today, I decided to transfer everything to Google Workspace. I verified that I am the owner of the domain by copying the code into the DNS at Seznam Profi. However, then came the problem when I had to remove the existing MX records and add those from Google Workspace. The issue is that Seznam Profi does not allow the deletion and replacement of MX records with those from Google Workspace. They wrote to me directly from support that if I want to use the existing domain registered with them, I need to transfer the domain to another registrar. Therefore, I cannot change the MX records.

My question is:
Is it possible to do this without MX records?
Is it possible to transfer the domain directly to Google Workspace?

@fandamud Well that's not a fun curveball and on top of that DNS is pretty scary for those who don't work with it a lot.  Here's my thoughts on what you want to achieve and how you might start to attack it.

Your goal is to transfer DNS and your domain name.  Google no longer provides this service, they sold that to SquareSpace if my memory is correct but because dotCZ is a Country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) so your registrar choices will be limited.  GoDaddy, I believe can handle dotCZ domains.

You'll need to do three important things at your current registrar before the transfer:

A) unlock your current domain for transfer

B) Get the EPP code

C) Make a copy of your DNS zone

Then you go to a place that sells dotCZ domains like GoDaddy where effectively you typically have to buy another year of the domain name to transfer the domain.  There you enter the EPP code and usually there are verification processes from there which might be email or even residency requirements, etc. based on who is allowed to buy a dotCZ domain.

IMPORTANT: During this transfer time, you could end up with massive disruption because your DNS could go down as soon as the transfer happens.

So you want to be ready as soon as the transfer happens (or hopefully as soon as GoDaddy let's you start doing it preferably before the transfer), build your zone in DNS from the records you kept above, etc. and be ready to have DNS running.

If it is important to avoid downtime, you will want to use a third party that can do DNS for you that isn't the same as your registrar.  Essentially you build a zone there, and change your DNS to them.  Then you transfer the domain keeping the domain name servers during the transfer so there is continuity.  You can leave it with the third party or move it back.

Hope this helps, KAM
