Trying to create Workspace Account

I've been trying to create an account but I'm getting stuck on an error. I get "Domain already in use". There's no reason why my domain would already be in use. I never succeeded in creating an account so I'm lost. Google One help referred me here so I'm afraid I'm stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi David.

"Domain already in use" indicates that your domain is either associated with a Google Workspace tenant now, or was in the past.

You could see this error message if you, or someone in your organization attempted to created a Google Workspace account - even if the domain verification process was never completed, and the attempt was abandoned.

You could also see this if another entity had registered the domain prior to you, and used it to create a Google Workspace account. 

I recommend you complete the account recovery process, during which Google will ask you to add a TXT record to your domain's DNS configuration to verify you control the domain.

Once complete, you'll be able to regain access to your domain's Google Workspace.
