What happened to play.space?

Hey All,

Jamboard will stop receiving automatic updates next year, so we're gearing towards replacing our office Jamboard with the much improved Board 65 by Avocor. One thing that surprised me when watching the demos is that the B65 still uses the Jamboard app for its collaborative whiteboarding. When looking at the facts:

I guess my question is, what's going on? Do you think that Jamboard will become deprecated in favour of a third-party toolset? Are we banking on Google releasing playspace as part of the GWS offering? I think we'll still commit to getting the B65, but it's frustrating not having an 'official stance' on where we're heading with collaborative whiteboarding on the Google ecosystem.

I'd love to know everyone's thoughts, and what you're doing in terms of digital whiteboarding in your organisation.

Playspace is no more. Jamboard is now on view-only mode globally, and is going away on December 31st, 2024.

WHY? Over the past couple of years, weโ€™ve heard from customers that whiteboarding tools like FigJam by Figma, Lucidspark by Lucid, and Miro help them work better together. As these tools have grown more capable, offering advanced features such as an infinite canvas, use case templates, voting, and more, weโ€™ve decided to leverage our partner ecosystem for whiteboarding in Workspace.
