When importing a Drive Doc to Gemini, is it the latest version?

A question for Gemini Workspace subscribers (I'm currently on the Pro plan).

The integration with Google Docs is nice, but it would be good to be clear on exactly how the integration works.

Let's say that I'm working on a Google Doc, which I want to inject repeatedly as context alongside prompts. In this case, I want to make sure that the version of the docs that I attach through the UI is always the latest one reflective of my most recent edits.

Is this the default behavior in Gemini currently? Or are the drive documents that can be added point-in-time snapshots (for technical reasons like ingesting them as embeddings in a pipeline that perhaps isn't on-demand)?

If anyone has seen any documentation that directly addresses this, I'd be grateful.

You can use gems, with Gems there is a feature on the roadmap that you will be able to upload an specific file to be used each time that the gem is used https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/15146780?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&sjid=96590122367...

I actually see the upload feature so I guess that is already active

Thank you, Sergio. Just discovered that you can create gems now in Workspace. This is definitely a step forward and much more logical for the use case, as you point out.
