I believe my information is correct but regardless of the search engine, the pages do need to be crawled so I personally would never consider indexing to be instant (if that is what you are also wondering about). It can take some pages some time to show up in a search engine. If you are wanting a page to show up on a public search engine such as Yahoo, Bing, Google Search, the page itself has to been public. If you are talking about Programmable Search Engine, let me know.
